About Emil

Emil Rozbicki joined Glencoe in October 2013 as Applications Specialist.

He is responsible for testing and quality assurance and development of new software applications for data analysis and processing. Emil is a physicist interested in computational physics, biophysics and bioengineering.

He received MSc in theoretical solid state physics from Wroclaw University of Technology in 2007 and PhD in experimental solid state physics from University of St Andrews in 2011. He worked as postdoctoral fellow in C. J. Weijer group in Dundee, where he designed and built the first light-sheet microscopy setup in the UK.

In his free time he enjoys cooking, photography, and long walks with his wife and daughter Maya.

  • Describe yourself in three words: Easy-going, dedicated, and conscientious.
  • Describe an average work day for you: Morning coffee, nursery run, e-mail catch up, OME standup, ticking off the to-do list tasks, lunch, more to-do completion, nursery run, coffee, stand up, post stand-up chats, reading/prep for the next day, dinner.
  • What’s your favorite thing about working for Glencoe Software? My favorite thing about Glencoe is what makes Glencoe - the team. Incredibly friendly, an open and professional bunch of people which makes it all 100x easier.
  • Favorite workplace tool and why? I can’t name a favorite since all of them have a balance of really good features and not so good features. The ones I’m using the most are XCode, Sublime Text and Chrome.
  • Describe your workspace: White desk, green chair, iMac, MBP, keyboard, mouse and a headset, occasionally a pen and a piece of paper.
  • When you are not at work what do you like to do? I like to sit in the kitchen figuring out how to bake better bread.
  • Who is the funniest member of the Glencoe Software Team? That depends a lot on the situation. I think everybody on the team has pretty good sense of humor and the team meetings always mean good fun. If I had to name someone then on the top of my list would be Stick with his amazing accents and impressions.
