Mike Rossner joined Glencoe in September 2013. He was an undergraduate at Princeton University and did his Ph.D. in the Department of Molecular Biology at Edinburgh University with Prof. Sir Ken Murray. He did a post-doc in the Cancer Research Unit at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
Mike was a scholarly publishing executive for 19 years, first as In-house Editor of “Chemistry and Biology”, then as Managing Editor of “The Journal of Cell Biology”, and then as Executive Director of The Rockefeller University Press.
He has championed the cause of image data integrity, developing policies and techniques for screening images for evidence of image manipulation before publication.
He worked with Glencoe to develop the JCB DataViewer – the first application for hosting and visualizing original, multi-dimensional image data underlying a publication – which was launched in December 2008.
