FEI Incorporate Glencoe Software's Bio-Formats Library into AMIRA
Glencoe Software, the world-leading supplier of image data management solutions for academic, biotech, pharma and publication industries, is delighted to announce a new partnership with FEI, Inc. Glencoe Software’s commercial license of Bio-Formats will be incorporated into FEI’s market-leading Amira, a 3D image analysis software application.
FEI’s Amira is a powerful, multifaceted 3D software platform for visualizing, manipulating, and understanding data from computed tomography, microscopy, MRI, and many other imaging modalities. Incorporating Bio-Formats’ powerful image translation library into Amira enables users to use Amira regardless of their preferred platform or file type, making that step to visualizing, analyzing and understanding their data, quicker and easier than ever before.
Bio-Formats is an image file format translation library and is used in thousands of laboratories around the world to read >145 proprietary image file formats. Glencoe Software is the exclusive commercial partner of the OME Consortium and makes substantial contributions to the Bio-Formats project. Glencoe is dedicated to the continued development of this important tool for use by the biological and biomedical research communities.
