The Company of Biologists Selects Glencoe Software’s Data InPress for In-Line Video
Glencoe Software, Inc. is pleased to announce that The Company of Biologists, publisher of several world leading biological research journals, will use its Data InPress Video Injection Service to deliver video content to its readers. Videos are now linked from Supplemental PDFs (see example here), elevating the quality and impact of supplemental material in the Company’s journals. You can view an example here.
Video data are integral to scientific research articles, but they have long been detached from the main articles pages on journal websites due to the limitations of print media and the constraints of content workflows and platform technology. Those constraints have been overcome with Glencoe Software’s Video Injection Service. Video data are converted from any file type into standardized formats for streaming to play-in-place viewers on desktop computers, tablets, or phones.
Kingsley Wiggin, Digital Production Manager at The Company of Biologists said,
“We are pleased to use Glencoe Software’s Video Injection Service. This reflects the importance we place on video content within our articles and the need to have them properly maintained. We expect that our partnership with Glencoe will be a beneficial and positive one, aided by their interest and understanding of the scientific community.”
Dr Jason Swedlow, CEO of Glencoe Software, said,
“We’re excited to have The Company’s journals joining the growing list of publications that use our Data InPress services. This is another example of Glencoe’s dedication to performance, service and quality being recognized by the top scientific publishers.”
